What’s an NFT?

NFT stands for “non-fungible token” — a fancy way of saying it’s a unique, one-of-a-kind digital item that users can buy, own, and trade. Some NFTs’ main functions are to be digital art and to look cool; some offer additional utility, like exclusive access to websites or participation in an event. Think of NFTs as rare pieces of art that can also act as a “member’s card”.

What is Ethereum?

Ethereum is the technology that powers the cryptocurrency called Ether (ETH). Learn all the details at their website.

What is Metamask or Coinbase Wallet?

These are a crypto wallets that stores your Ethereum. It’s needed to purchase and mint a Cool Cat. Having a wallet gives you an Ethereum address (i.e. 0xABCD….1234), which is also where your NFT is stored. Learn more about Metamask or Coinbase Wallet and how easy they are to use here or here.

Where does my NFT go after I purchase a Cool Cat?

Your Cool Cat NFT will appear in whatever address, or connected wallet, you used to purchase the Cool Cat. You can see your Cool Cat on our website by clicking My Cats, or view it on OpenSea.

This sounds cool. How do I get involved?

A great place to start is our Discord, home to a very large and very active community of Cool Cat enthusiasts. You don’t need to be a Cool Cat holder to join us there! All are welcome to jump into the conversation, let us know your ideas, and hang out with many others who like the Cats!

Soooo…Breeding?

Yes! We’re still determining the most optimal way to implement breeding and are hoping the community can weigh in. Breeding will be a Gen 2 Cool Cats feature, so stay tuned!

Are Cool Cats a good investment?

Ultimately, this is a decision for you to make. We believe Cool Cats have a long life ahead of them, and will be an ever-growing and evolving project. However, as with most things, the success of Cool Cats relies on so many factors and variables…and no one knows the future. As with anything in life, don’t spend money you can’t afford to not have.

Where did Cool Cats come from?

We’re a team of 4 nerds who are passionate about crypto, art, and makin’ cool stuff. Our team is comprised of Clon, previously known as The Catoonist (https://www.instagram.com/thecatoonist/) around some parts – who is responsible for the origination of Blue Cat and all of the Cool Cats illustration. Tom, who has the Jimmy Neutron brain responsible for
the technical side from smart contracts to servers, all that “fun” stuff. Lynq is our ace up the sleeve dev ninja that builds
out our cool website and builds the Cooltopia world, and ELU who is on creative direction, kicking pixel butt with Clon and also switches between marketing and project management.
